CUSTOM FEATURES:

This striking Bing Hu designed home from 2004 was renovated and furnished throughout. The kitchen, master bath and media room were completely gutted and updated. The bar, powder room and several other areas received all new finishes and fixtures. We replaced a TV wall in the great room with a new wine room to allow views through to the kitchen, with its fully integrated appliances, a sculptural lighting pendant and modern custom cabinetry. With respect for the beauty of the original architecture and the dramatic Sonoran canyon in which it is located, we used an earthy desert palette with accents of chestnut wood tones to tie into the T&G ceiling.

We re-oriented the master bath layout and added view windows toward the canyon, with custom suspended lit mirrors over the vanity. Minimalist in style, the custom-colored tub sits quietly in front of a patterned tile wall. The client wanted to enjoy desert views from their bed, so a new slatted walnut panel was created to separate the bath area from the bedroom area and allows views from the master bedroom through to the desert floor.

In the interest of budget, we kept the Arizona-mined quartzite floors throughout and stripped and re-stained the existing wood ceiling in the great room. We incorporated the client’s love of art into the media room by creating a dramatic custom mural wallcovering on the rear wall, all new custom cabinetry, river rock shaped ottomans, and subtle lighting. New original sculptures were added throughout the home.
