About Us

We are a team…

Interior architecture is a collaborative process

We think the best results come from a thoughtful exchange of ideas that can only be achieved through good communication and flexibility. Our close coordination with clients in particular, but also with architects, contractors and vendors, ensures that the final outcome preserves the design intent while staying within budget and scheduling constraints.

Our role is to act as your advocate, providing a critical link between you and the builder. We have the expertise and design skills to identify critical junctures, interpret industry speak, and provide thoughtful collaborative solutions for issues that arise.

Our detailed drawings, comprehensive design specs and close coordination with contractors all converge when field conditions require quick solutions for style, material and detail questions.

Our most successful projects have been a result of a flexible, creative, and proactive design team made up of client, designer, architect, and the project contractor(s). Clients are consistently pleased with our solution-based approach and open communication. We are creative thinkers and problem solvers that enjoy what we do.

Amy (Bubier) Klosterman

Principal

Amy Klosterman is the principal of AB Design Elements, a full service residential interior design firm based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Amy was a recipient of the prestigious Masters of the Southwest Award in 2017, and has been frequently featured in design magazines and other media. She and her team have received over 20 First Place ASID Design Excellence awards since 2012 including ‘Best of Show’, as well as awards from national organizations like the National Association of Home Builders. With each project, she continues to strive for excellence in client contentment and unique ways to deliver beautiful and functional design for interior spaces.

She is originally from Newton Center, MA and Baltimore, MD, graduated with a BS in Interior Architecture in 1990, and has lived in Arizona since 1992. Her sketching, space planning, and innovative design skills are important elements in the process of creating artful and unique interiors, but if her Houzz reviews are good indicators, then it’s equally about working well with people. Amy understands that flexibility, having fun, and offering guidance throughout the process are critical to the perceived success of the home design process. Clients and contractors are consistently pleased with her consistent communication and her ability to find solutions to design and construction challenges.

Amy values the important balance of work + family + friends, good humor, hot yoga and hiking, getting lost in a good book, exploring new cities with her husband, fresh perspectives, her faith, and her secret stash of dark chocolate.
