The highlight of this contemporary Scottsdale full home renovation is the custom wood clad fireplace facade. Created from wavy walnut and metal panels that wrap the sides with a tile surround on the firebox, it won a First Place 2018 ASID Design Excellence award for Design Elements/Fixtures. The organic wavy design element is echoed in the custom steel entry door and gate to the front courtyard. The kitchen was also renovated with dark walnut-stained oak slab-front cabinets and a 3-dimensional gypsum panel backsplash finished with a glossy metallic paint. The master bath was also fully gutted and renovated, featuring a handpainted patterned focal wall behind the tub.
